As my term as President of ISA Houston Section comes to end, I would like to offer you a personal account of what we have done over the last year and the goals we have achieved. I would also like to thank you for all the support you have given me during this time.

  • Memberships – At 1400+, it is the highest in recent history. We can attribute some of this to our regularly held networking events. Our next networking event will be held in July.
  • New website – We launched our new website in October and it has recorded the highest traffic ever. We also streamlined the registration process to make accounting easier.
  • Scholarships – We awarded $100,000 in scholarships. This is twice as much as what we awarded last year and it is the highest in our history.
  • New winter event – We added a new event, the clay shoot, to raise funds for the scholarships.
  • Fall event – Our longest running scholarship event, the chili cook-off, had the highest recorded attendance ever at 2000+.
  • Spring event – We held another successful scholarship golf tournament at Kingwood.
  • ISA training – We continued to host ISA training. Funds from these courses help our scholarship program immensely.

Finally, I want to wish our next section President Ardis Bartle a successful year. I am confident that you will extend her the same support you have given me. It has been a pleasure and an honor to have served as your President. I am delighted that we have achieved so much.
