ISA Houston Section Scholarship & Election Night

Event Overview

The June 2019 Scholarship and Election Night iof the ISA Houston Section will be held on June 5th at the University of Houston – Downtown campus. The name of the building where the Scholarship and Election Night is being held is the Girard Street Building (GSB). We will be meeting in the Milam & Travis rooms located on the third floor of the One Main Building located at the intersection of Travis and Girard streets. At this event we will be recognizing the 2019 – 2020 Scholarship Recipients and vote on the incoming 2019 – 2020 Elected Officers for the Houston Section. Additionally, special guests representing the St. Agnes/Strake Jesuit robotics team will be in attendance with the robot that they built this year and competed with this year. 

All ISA Houston Section Members are encouraged to attend this important meeting! RSVPs will be taken on the website up until Monday at noon before the event. After that online registration will be closed but walk ins are welcome for the event. Parking is available in the public parking lots and garage at a reasonable cost.

Parking Recommendations

There are two parking options for this event.

1.) The University of Houston Downtown Visitor Parking Lot, which is directly under GSB, is available after 5PM, first come first serve, $8 per entry.

2.) There is a metered parking area, Girard Street Parking, across street that is about a 1 minute walk from Girard Street Building (GSB), at a cost around $1/hour.

Additional Information on the St. Agnes/Strake Jesuit Robotics Team 
Spectrum 3847, the St. Agnes and Strake Jesuit engineering team, earned a gold medal at the El Paso District First In Texas Competition on March 3, 2019. Spectrum 3847 competed against 25 other teams from across Texas and New Mexico in the new Destination: Deep Space game held at the University of Texas El Paso. Robonauts 118, Spectrum 3847 and Del Valle Conquistabots 5047 were the #1 alliance for the playoffs. Competition was fierce and their number one seeded alliance went on to win the final matches, crowning them the Winner of the 2019 El Paso District First In Texas competition.
