The petroleum industry has the challenge of competing in an increasingly dynamic and globally competitive business climate with a working environment cluttered with information systems and masses of data that present a serious roadblock to reliable, effective, and productive operations. Optimizing asset productivity and business agility hinges on the ability to access the right data at the right time by every person. Existing information systems are quite effective at amassing volumes of data about the asset, but are they enabling the information to be fully utilized and available across the organization? Are they enabling users to make faster and better decisions which contribute to bottom line results?

Imagine being able to walk through a plant in virtual reality, touching a pipe and having everything that is known about that pipe appear on the screen, such as its dimensions, material of construction, thickness, temperature of the fluid flowing through the pipe, last date it was inspected, next scheduled maintenance, — everything.

For twenty years Mr. Sullivan has worked with operating companies to solve problems and realize opportunities in process manufacturing. His experience lies with solutions related to Instrumentation, Process Control, Operations Intelligence and Asset Virtualization. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he is married with three boys. His interests include fishing, coaching, playing golf and buying lunch.
